Fc engineering
Fc-engineering refers to the introduction of mutations to the Fc-part of therapeutic antibody candidates to change their effector functions.
Depending on the target and context of antibody therapy, different effects are needed, e.g.:
- Enhance effector functions
- Reduce unwanted immune activation
- Increase antibody half-life
- Improve antibody stability
Some commonly used mutations are IgG4 S228P, IgG1 LALA, IgG1 LALAPG, IgG1 N297Q, IgG1 H435A, YTE amongst others. Let’s discuss which effects or mutations you are in need for.
